International B Day

As mentioned, it was International B Day yesterday.
So what exactly does "B" stands for?
After some thought, i shall name it International Boyz Day.
Kinda lame but that's the best i can go. Hah.

Anyway, what was this day about and why was it so special?
Well, read on.

We have Jerry Ling JK TK [pai sei]! Haha!
He was back solely for his cousin's wedding.
Yeah that's him.
Blood thicker than water, cash more than colour paper.
Ok that wasn't good. I was just trying to make it rhyme. Hah.
It's nice that he will make it a point try to meet whenever he returns.
This time, we kept it simple by just having McDees brekkie at Bedok Central as the main itinerary was to visit New Place.
It was donkey years since i had brekkie on a Saturday morning but for the sake of this dear friend, i was more than willing to make the sacrifice! Heh.
So sincere hor?

Acting cool and cute.
Hey! I realised you look so much like your dad in that "act cool" pic!
Maybe it's the hair. Haha!

Think Bonny can do a better job. Haha!

It was good even for that mere 3 hours.
Since we don't know when will we see each other again.

Back last year, i wrote 2 entries about an old friend whom have gone missing since we graduated from secondary school.
The first one was when i tried my luck to see if he was reachable.
The latest one was when i found him on msn.
Since then, we chatted a bit here and there whenever he came online.
At least got to know what was he up to lately.

Then last Wednesday, i received a call in the late evening, private number.
Caller: Hello...can i speak to Bxxxxx [Bonny's chinese name which somehow went dormant over the years]
Bonny: This is she. Who's this?
Caller: You guess? [I seriously do not fancy playing such guessing games. So free ah?]
Bonny: Hmm...dunno leh.
Caller: You forgot about me?
[Then that voice suddenly became soooo familiar.]
Bonny: [inhale a deep breathe which sounded asthmatic] FUANGYOS!!!!!
The once-so-habituated voice became so nostalgic.

Yes that was him.
Boy...it really caught me by surprise.
Apparently, he knew about this visit 2 weeks ago when his mum planned to make a trip here to settle some stuff.
Thus he decided to tag along with his girlfriend.
And i was kept in the dark throughout even though we msned.
Now i know why he was urgently asking for my number some time back.
But he denied when i asked him if he was coming.
Bluff me! =p
But i was obviously more than happy to be conned. Heh.
So after a good 8 years, we finally met.
I managed to gather a few of our secondary friends to join in the reunion at Bugis Junction as well.

My old friend - Fuangyos Chindeesuwan. =)

He with Xiaofen.

He with Tricia.

He with Bonny again...smiling cheekily.

I wonder where are all his guy friends. Heh.

The fond memories all came back when he appeared before me.
He didn't change a bit. Perhaps now with a smaller build.
In fact, i think he looked younger than he was 8 years ago. More chatty too.

His English was still as good. Mandarin...still as bad. Hah.
It was really a lovely afternoon.
We just couldn't stop rattling on and on, about the past, about now.
I mean how many old friends can you have and how many can you meet?
It's just nice to know that someone who shares my sweet memory, is still doing well at another part of the globe.
Indescribable. You'll have to experience it yourself.

Perhaps i should consider making a trip to Bangkok next year.

Look out for the special report on the next post!
