Cinderella vs Horse vs Pumpkin

One day on msn...

Jer~
u know, when i first entered sec school, almost
all my classmates hated me for my looks.
they say i damn arrogant
got this kinda long face and protruding lower lip, wot to do?

Bonny~
hehe

Jer~
even jinli felt the same...but once past the looks stage, they found a cinderella inside

Bonny~
cinderalla???
haha
u mean the pumpkin carriage?

Jer~
now...i am the horse that pulls the pumpkin carriage

Bonny~
yah coz i'm the cinderalla mah

Jer~
no wonder i got back problems

Bonny~
hahaha that's a good one

Jer~
but bonny, it's strange isn't it?
shouldn't u be the pumpkin?

Bonny~
i was just suggesting that u be the pumpkin and u gladly accepted it leh

Jer~
no mah...u suggested but i took the role of the horse mah

Bonny~
k lah k lah...u be horse

but i'll still be cinderella =p

Jer~
i sometimes dun understand u
the kind of frenship we have
u rather torture me and break my back

Bonny~
no hor

Jer~
kkkk
after midnight u will

hmm...we sibei childish hor? haha

Bonny~
IT'S YOU!

Jer~

you INSISTED on being the cinderella rather than be the pumpkin
bottomline is that none of us wants to be pumpkin
at least i was being realistic with the horse...u, as cinderella...kao
more like a grounded fairy godmother

With this, we abused the beautiful fairytale.

In a week

It has been quite a while since my last entry.
Some updates!

The week before last, I was in a sms conversation with CY...
Bonny: Ey what's the update so far?
CY: My case will be settled out of court on 15Mar. Will compensate 2K to charity, 400 to girl.
Bonny: 400K to the girl!!!!!!! Kill people put fire ah!!!! See see..knew she's out to make a fortune!
CY: $400. If its 400K, i'll get a Queens Council from London to fight the case at 100K.
Hmm..yeah sounds more logical.
But isn't that weird? Only 400 bucks?? Charity?? Huh???
In any case, i cared less about the details.
Most importantly it's going to be over.
Finally the entire episode ended on 15 Mar.
One day after CY's birthday.
His greatest wish was to have a good sleep he said.
He hadn't been sleeping well for the past year.
Poor thing.

Mummy shifted into new place last Saturday.
It was the first time that i stepped foot into new place after the new paint and sigh...it's not the effect i wanted.
Kinda disappointed. =(
The rest of the furnish is not quite done too.
The bathroom doors and the kitchen cabinets were not fixed.
My bed, the sofa and the dinining table will only be delivered on 4 April and we need to buy 2 tv consoles, utensils and locks.
Btw, the LCD tv is still sitting in my office as i didn't want it to be "harmed" by the renovator.
Duh...
Setting up a new place is such time and money consuming.
But it's ok...it WILL be done soon.

Carol led a team of ministers, comprising of Tecky, Jessy and Koko, to new place yesterday to pray for the house.
New house needs to be "cleaned" thoroughly.
Who knows who used to live there previously right?
Therefore, albeit the renovation, the spiritual environment has to be taken care of too.
We had a session of worship and praise and it's funny to see Mummy raising her hand when she sang. Heh =p
Mummy was prayed for too! =)

***

Caught 2 movies last week.
Okok i know i said just 1 but ya know....just can't be helped =p
Bonny's rating of 3/5 and 4/5 respectively.
Will Smith's son is so cool.

***

You know what!!!!
Cable is showing Kim Sam Soon again!!! Woohoo!!!
Without any prior knowledge, i was talking on the phone with Mummy when i heard the prelude music played on tv, and boy...i almost screamed into the phone.
But i know Mummy would sure make a big fuss out of it if i really did that.
That was when my Sam-soon craze revived again.
Errm... wrong...i mean Hyun-Bin craze. =p
After 6 months when i first had that craze, i concluded that i really love this serial and of course...hmm him...hahaha.

And so i convincingly decided to purchase the dvd for my collection.
Unfortunately, buying from Poh Kim was the worst choice i've ever made.
The recording sucks (can't find a better word) big time!
So "raw" and fake.
It's as though i'm watching Kim Sam Soon The Sitcom.
Don't have to understand what i'm talking.
Just know i've added Poh Kim into my condemn list.
It's not the first time i was disappointed with a Poh Kim purchase.
Enough! Nil chance from now!

I enjoy the feeling of watching 1 episode at a time on cable every night though.
Kekeke...

Last Friday, i was taking the usual bus to work every morning.
Usual bus number but unusual bus.
See...
They transformed the bus into a pub loh!
All the seats were removed and replaced with white cushion.
So cool!
Apparently it was the advertising gimmick of Nokia 5300.
However, i can't seem to see the relations between a pub and the mobile phone.
What's the message they are trying to put across? *scratch head*
It's ok, so long i enjoyed my ride. =)

Haven't really get on to my revision.
Oh dearz....

Bonny:

New house + New boss + Old Exams

Just feel like joting a note before i get back to my books.
Mummy called just now to tell me that she bought a dining table.
She got "high" taste so i'm sure the price tag must be definitely as "high" too.
Thank goodness she's also buey pai sei.
If not the dining table would not be courtesy of an aunt and a couple of uncles. Heh. =)

We are coming to the 6th week of renovation and sad to say, it's not quite done yet.
All thanks to the long CNY break in between.
But we've finally chosen the colours of the walls last weekend.
I knew what i wanted beforehand but it seemed hard to imagine the effect on a larger backdrop.
Can only imagine, imagine and imagine right? Or else how??
Shall keep it as a secret for now. Heh.
If nothing goes wrong, the house should be completed by next week.
Mummy has to vacate from her current place by the 15th anyway.
As for me, i'll start packing some clothes and cds after prelims.
Oh did i mention that i'm not staying "full-time" at my new place?
Yah...I thought i could, until i discover the delinquency problems in my youngest brother.
Guess i have to continue wearing the disciplinary hat for a while more.
Haiz...

Right after CNY, i had a new boss.
An assistant director.
This post was vacant for almost 3 years before we found the right candidate.
How sad!
Anyway, she's a nice lady in her late 30s.
I have qualms with working for a lady boss all the while.
I don't like to be micro-managed and trust me, all MOST lady bosses love to do that.

But Li is pretty friendly. Most importantly she is chinese-ed which makes communication much easier.
Imagine a hao lian, "fiak" ang mor woman as your boss. Haiyo...doom day!
We had a work discussion today and suddenly, i paused (internally) and felt a stir.
I could almost foresee a tsunami kind of revamp coming up.
It's weird i must say. It's has a starting-all-over-again feeling, albeit it's still in the planning stage.
Nevertheless, i'm sure it'll be a change for the better.
Pretty exciting.

Oh dear! Before i start rattling non-stop, i better get back to my books.
Soci paper yesterday was not bad.
I think i can do, IF ONLY i revised enough. =p

Next paper is Marketing on Sat morning.
Time to burn my midnight lamp!

Working from home tomorrow. =)

Academic War I

There are times when i tell myself that perhaps i can be satisfied with just diploma qualification.
However, the thought usually wouldn't persist for more than 2 mins when the "how-to-survive" argument set in.
The latter will usually emerge the winner in the mental debate.

I started off the course with a pure intention of personal goal to attain a higher qualification.

I wasn't an academic high achiever but not too bad either.
Most importantly, i enjoy studying.
I set up the challange for myself to juggle work and studies simultaneously.
But as time goes by, the intention/objective somehow diverged.

Seriously speaking, not that i am such a go-getter who pursue high quality of life.
Rather, i could hardly breathe with my current earnings.
Of course, i hope to be able to provide Mummy with a comfortable life.
Recently she showed me a passport photograph of her and i realised she has aged.
It shook me for a moment.
Although very much that i want to remain as the little girl of Mummy, i shouldn't escape from the reality and the responsibilities.
I want a breakthrough in my current state of life.
But the process is killing.

I have again entered into the months of academic war.
Tonight is the first prelim paper and i merely covered 3 chapters of the many many.
I tried but failed.
I was (am) again blanketed by the spirit of sianness.
It seems that i am always tired and sleepy.
Whenever i attempt to read, my eyes will shut unconsciously!
Really no joke!
It was only when i found myself in dreamland then i realised i've actually fallen asleep.
Then i'll force myself back to the books.
Before i could complete a page, it repeated again.
Such a dread!

At the same time, i've terminated all leisure and entertainment activities so that i have more time for revision.
Gone are the 4 movies that i've been looking forward! Maybe just 1 after the prelims. =(
Gone are the after-work dinners and coffee! Maybe it's a good time to fast.

I hate myself for this lack of discipline.
Before the actual exams draw nearer, i better start praying for a solution.
Please pray with me too.

Stalked

I had a strange encounter yesterday.
At 8.26am in the morning.
I was supposed to get up by 8.15am for church but a beautiful dream kept me in my dreamland.

I was in olden Holland! Don't know why.
With all the ancient castles and architectures.
And the most interesting part was that i was with Leonardo DiCaprio!
Not that i am a fan of Leo but i certainly wouldn't mind having him as my traveling partner. =p
He was bringing me to visit his hometown or something. [an American's
hometown in Holland??]
Then there were like dutch ladies in their traditional costume walking around. We were lazing around, breathing in fresh air, having a good time.
Just as i was telling Leo that we should do some sightseeing, i was brought back to reality with the knock on my bedroom door. ARRRGGGHHHH!!!

That was when it happened.
When i sleepishly stumbled to turn the knob, saw my maid standing outside.
Maid: Sista [that's how she address me], somebody looking for you at the door.
Still in a daze, i peep through the peep-hole but not a single soul that i saw.
I opened the door and did a thorough check. Nobody leh.
Then i asked my maid again...
Bonny: Girl or boy?
Maid: Girl. "Ah-gree" girl. Black black "ah-gree" girl.
Bonny: What did she say?
Maid: She say..."fat girl [lifted both arms perpendicularly against body] staying here?"
Hmm...think i fit into that description obviously.

Eerie right?? *shiver*
When i clarified again with her later in the evening, she added that mysterious person was a lady in her late 30s.
Again she re-emphasized that she's "ah-gree".

Oh dear...
Who is she?
What she wants from me?
Am i being watched?
Will i get stabbed from behind at the void deck?
Will i get attacked by a lunatic?
Will i get a threat letter with dead cockroaches in the mailbox?

Scared scared.

Karaoke Idol

Remember before CNY, Bonny mentioned about the karaoke competition?
It took place during Happy Hour yesterday, in conjunction with the late CNY celebration.
So we had buffet [which Bonny didn't have a chance to bite] and lo hei [i had this!].
Not forgetting the ever popular lion dance.
Guess everyone wants to HUAT AH!

At 1.30pm, the competition started.
It's only the day before that i realised there were only 4 participants.
Heng ah...errm...i mean what a pity. =p
Out of which 2 were from Planning. That's Jules and Bonny loh.
The other 2 contestants were competitive man.
Their supporters made banners and standee wor and got flowers somemore.
Pattern more than badminton man. [hmm in case you went blur, it's just to make it rhyme. =p]
Jules and Bonny have none wor.
But we had a group of loyal Planners supporters! Woohoo!

The judges are Sulian Wijaya [you should know this glam lady if you are a frequent reader of the papers or glam mags] and Kaiyin.
They are the directors of the board.
The judging criterias were vocal quality, stage presence, audience interaction and err..forgot already.

Without further ado...
Contestant No. 1 - Bonny
They arranged us in alphabetical order so bo bian, who would wanna be first man.
Bonny was interviewed by our very own Ryan Seacrestcucumber!
Heard that he was the winner of the Superstar-replicate in Suria channel last year wor.
Since then he has been the 常驻主持 of our board.

I chose the song <<路>> [click to listen the song] by Fish Leong.
Why ah? Hmm...i love the melody and it falls in my range loh.
Quite comfortable for me.
I tell you, Bonny was nervous man!
My tummy started to ache before i was called.
My legs, my tummy, my lips were trembling like crazy!
The high notes got stuck and i didn't know where to place my "free" hand.
The weird thing is, i got more than twice the audience size when i sing in church and i was so much at ease.
But cannot compare. I am worshipping God in church, not performing.
Whereas this was a secular competition which i didn't care much about winning.
Perhaps because i was judged. That's why the nervousness.
Another weird thing is, i seem to forget how to perform on secular stage.
I was more natural when i was with Replugged.
Not important. Just a thought.
Anyway...this was Bonny in action.
The sound system was not bad i must say.
My voice could be projected without much effort.
Wasn't a good performance though. Too nervous lah!
I wish a video was taken instead.

Right after my performance, i was asked to stay on for judges' comments.
Judge: Bonny...that was a good choice of song...
So Superstar/American Idol right!
So fun leh! Bonny had a taste of being an Idol too!

The judges' comments made me blush man.
I didn't know i was that...errm...good. Hahaha!!!!
Angelica voice wor...Muahahaha!!!!
Okok humble humble. Mua-mua-muahahaha!!!
Be more forgiving lah. Bonny seldom receive such high praises one.
People will only pin-point on my nasal voice. Haiz.
But they too noticed that i was uber nervous. =p

Contestant no. 2 was good man! Definitely better than Bonny.
Her song was "Relection" by Coco Lee.
Heard that she was the back-up singer of don't know some popular singer wor.
No wonder.
My vote went to her!
Contestant no. 3 was the only guy and can see that he frequents the ktv.
My appointed photographer was too focus on snapping Jules and Bonny already so nil pics of them. Oops...
Next, Jules!
She was the last contestant and boy...she was cool man!
She said she couldn't compete in terms of vocal so she went all out to have fun!
Her choice of song was 天黑黑. Chope!!! Not the Stephanie Sun's version ok!
It was the authentic Hokkien version aka Ti Or Or.
She requested for the MV to be shown on the flat screen behind and had a story-telling insert during the song.
Steady!
The judges and the audience enjoyed themselve heaps i have to say.
Entertainment value - NUMBER ONE!
.
.
.
.
.
and so...the results...
.
.
.
.
.
The title of the Idol went to....JULES!!!!!!!
Before the competition, she thought she would come in last ok.
She was shocked!
All Right!!! Planning Planning Planning!!!!
We were so proud of her!

.
.
.
.
.
and 1st runner-up went to...
.
.
.
.
.
BONNY!!!!
Heh =p

What was Kaiyin whispering??
Make a guess!
K lah...in case you were misled.
The background was uber noisy but i could hear him mumbling in a serious tone.
"You should seriously consider to go for stage performance training. You can make it one!"
Ahh...play play only lah. So serious meh.

And he thought we are very shou. =p
If only he was Ken...Muahahaha!
Joking joking...

With that, Bonny has $200 credit with Tangs!
Woohoo!
[Mummy was very happy when i broke the news to her later in the night and she conveniently kept the envelope (and it's contents) in her drawer. Duh.]

Our supporting entourage!
The loudest ones!
Don't know where did the rest go.
Thanks to (from left): Ee-lin - my appointed photographer, Peirui - the cheerleading captain, Roy - the cheerleading vice-captain and not forgetting Weiyin (on leave) for nominating.

And so Planning took the first two positions of the competition!
A bit pai sei lah. =p
Mua-mua-muahahhaha!!!

Planning Rox!
Woohoo! =D
