Gil's Hen Party

Very soon, all of them will be designated as Madame.
Very soon, they will request for baby-friendly meeting venues.
Very soon, they will check if i have window grilles at home before they bring their kids over.
Very soon...
Very soon...
Very soon...

Gil shall be the first to kickstart the trend.

It was good

The report turned out fine. Thank God really.
Despite feeling a little lost when i realised Dr Chia was on medical leave.
I think i relied on her too much and i just feel more thorough and assured when she's around.
I was also looking forward to see her after one year. Miss her.
Oh well...another six months then.
As for her covering team doctor, i shan't comment. =p

Thank God for Koko who accompanied me and made the initial dreadful visit a more pleasurable one.
We called for a celebration at
曾府菜 later.
It was quite shiok for two flu-buggers to steamboat in such a chilly weather. =)

Is that all?

1. Uncertain on the result of the ultrasounds taken last Wed. Possibility of a relapse. Worrying.

2. Results of my final exam will be released soon and i'm totally not confident at all. What if i fail badly? What if i have to retake? Uncertainty...worrying.

3. I think Mummy is at her menopausal stage and being her next of kin, i was inevitably the victim of all her mood swings. Hurtful words as a result of her insecurity, i've to bear them all.

4. Received a complain against me at work yesterday. I was too tired to defend myself so i took all upon myself. Still waiting for the punishment.

5. Caught a flu virus and was half-conscious the whole of today. It was hard trying to keep myself awake while staring at the tiny numbers.

Is that all?
Since i'm already at my rock-bottom, it doesn't make a difference to have the list added.
What could go wrong, went wrong.
I couldn't deal with the rejections and lost my direction of life all of a sudden.
I didn't know where to head next.
How i wish things will past at a blink and if only i could shut my eyes for this moment.

Psalm 25:4-5
Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Glorious Food

It was a weekend of food galore.
Good food to be exact.
Kel and Jo kindly invited Bonny and a few others for their banquet food tasting at The Sentosa, the place they are going to be wedded.
Since it's the prelude of the actual banquet, i thought it should be at its best quality and hence, i reminded myself that i should be skeptical about my comments.
However, i regret to say that i failed big time.
The food was marvellous! Well, at least to me lah. =p
To keep the suspense of what the invitees will be expecting, the images have been edited.
The attendees of the food tasting.
Apparently, only Andrew (with his iPhone) commented during the dinner.
I just nodded in agreement whenever appropriate. =p
Spot Bonny!!!
Can't believe that we struck that pose at the main entrance of a 5-star hotel!
Immediately the following day, it was Uncle John's house-cooling party.
He's moving out soon and decided that we should have one last gathering at this memorable place. *sad*
The kitchen where i was equipped with a fair bit of culinary skill.

...where such spread was whipped.

Many corners which we'll never forget.

I made a new friend too.
This pretty young lady is such a doll.

But Uncle John had to ruin her innocence.
为老不尊啊!

This is more than a house.

Farewell...

Joy from the Lord

It really makes a different when a person prayed.
In little ways, God showed that He heard and He cared.
It was so intimate that only both of us know. =)

On my way to KKH, i bumped into Bel at the shuttle bus queue.
I always hope to see her at the hospital since the time she started work there.
Finally had the chance today and we had a nice catch-up during the shuttle ride.

First stop was at the Diagnostic Imaging centre for the ultrasound, pelvis.
The queue was amazingly quick and i almost didn't wanna go in when the nurse shouted for me, coz i was watching the table tennis men's single - Singapore vs Portugal match.
Thank goodness i managed to catch a glimpse of the final match point where Singapore took its victory.

Then it was followed by ultrasound, breasts which was...painful.
She thought she could use her bull strength since it was not her flesh.
My face was cringing throughout.
The procedure was pretty smooth and i ended my visit in less than 2 hours.

I had three hours before the swim and i decided to spend the solo time at my pace.
Enjoying every moment.

Taking pleasure at every sight.

How can a slacking afternoon be completed without indulging at my favourite coffee place?
This was the second time in a week that i patronised TCC at Bugis and for the second time, i ordered the Classic Marble Cheesecake. Heh.
And it just had to be complimented by a premium coffee.
Awesome!!!
It reminded me of the Korean escapade and i began to dream of the next one.
I MUST have another one!
I can live like this forever.
Such a terrific weekday afternoon.
What so bad about being alone?
Alone doesn't equate to Lonely for sure.
It's just a matter of perspective.
As much as Bonny is a high-E, i do treasure my solitary moments too.
Other than doing things i like, not compromising to situations, i am able to see things in details and am more sensitive to the surrounding too.
Shiokness.

Oh to add on to my delight, i pampered myself with a new swimsuit!
Pretty is an understatement.
Nah show you a bit only. I shy. Keke.
More joy from the Lord tomorrow!

=)

The Courses

The Dessert

Persi and i love desserts.
For the longest time, i've been craving for waffle with gelato. For no reason.
Finally, we managed to hit on the Gelare Tuesday offer where waffles were on half-price.
Persi took the Oregon Hazelnut which was richly flavoured but just a tad sweet for my liking.
I had the refreshing and natural Wild Strawberry which went very well with the crispy-yet-soft waffle.
However, we didn't manage to complete the course of one waffle each.
A result of cheapskate-ness. =p
I don't think i will have waffle for the next 152 days. *uaaat*

The Supper

Since we have three cars for the night, CG would not miss the opportunity to venture out for supper!
师奶茶餐厅 at East Coast Road was usually one of the appointed supper places whenever we have such opportunity.
It was also for the benefit of Bonny who's the only Eastie in the group. See...i know they love me. =)

I labelled this My Shot of the Night.
I think it's so deeeeeep.
You just won't understand.

Another classic shot which i named it as Chinless.
You won't understand too.

This, will be named as 衣冠不整.
It's Koko who gave me the idea. =p

QQ is my new xiao di in the CG.
I won't tell you why he's called QQ.
It's our CG secret.

This, is the 传说中的,香...蕉...飞...仙!!!!
The name is just awesome.

The Tea

When i was
a kid in primary school, my gang loved to hang out at
PP after eca.
During then, i was under the strict scrutiny of Mummy and she just refused to let me go.
Therefore, the only time i could visit PP was with my family and nobody else. *sad*
I also got my first Swatch PP when i was 12,
from the store at the basement which is still in operation till today. (I was still wearing it until i lost it at a Tioman trip 2 years ago.)

It was when i migrated to the east and officially became a Eastie last year, then i had the chance to revert to the nostalgic PP days.
Going back to PP as an adult is a totally different experience altogether.
I like the place for its vastness and its variety of shops and brands.
You can get basically anything and everything. Amazing.
I like the place for its tranquility. It's just a feeling.
Perhaps it's near to the beach.
I like the place for its multi-nationality.
French, Italian, Caucasian...you name it, they have it. Haha.
I think they added on to the tranquility too.

Spending an agenda-less Saturday afternoon over a cuppa and tiramisu with a nice friend, talking about life and anything under the sun, i couldn't think of a better activity than this.
Today was at Dome @ Borders.
For a moment, we thought we were in Pa-ree! Hah.

Bengz, the nice friend cum the force behind my return to PP.
Apparently, it's his favourite hangout place too and he somehow made me like it more each time i go.
I force him to We would TRY to visit a new eating or coffee place each time, despite of his high-resistance to changes. Haha.

WE WON!!!!!

It was nerve wracking afternoon.
We didn't manage to accomplish anything as there were more important stuff to handle.

Upon arrival at bistro, there was already a crowd in front of the tv.
It was the second match of the five - Li Jia Wei vs Kim Kyung Ah.
I almost died from palpitation.
Li Jia Wei didn't make it ultimately.
We somehow thought that it was because of us. We shouldn't have watched. =p
So we went up again but decided to just keep watch on the live score instead.
We ended up refreshing the screen every second. Heh.
Little did we know that Li Li was joining in the clicking too. Hah!

We couldn't suppress our excitement at the finale match of Feng Tianwei vs Park Mi Young when it was a tie at 2-2.
We hurried back to the bistro to join the other 60 thrilled Singaporeans, including our CE. Heh.

My gosh...there were times where i forgot to breathe in between the points.
We ROARED whenever Feng scored!
At match point, i could almost pulled my hair and i was utterly lost in the excitement.
Li Jia Wei looked solemned as she sat at the border of the court.
She must be praying hard. If Feng couldn't make it, there goes her name. =p
On the other hand, Feng (whom i thought she looks a bit like 陈法蓉)was trying to look calm.
How to??? Don't bluff lah.
The last few balls were draggy. Park was on a close defense.
Finally, the moment she missed that ball and officially declared Singapore with a minimum a silver medal, the cheer at Tourism Court was thunderous!!!!
Li Jia Wei dropped her tears of joy. Bonny too.
We were grabbing onto one another and hopping around like little girls.
AT LAST!!!!! After 48 years!!!!
I was so excited that i had to text Jer, who's in Beijing for the Olympics now, to congratulate the team if he sees them. Heh.

Well, who knows we might even bag a GOLD medal!
Stay tune!!!
Woohoo!!!

I want to SLEEP!

For the longest time, i've not been the most punctual at work.
Ok let me make this clear. Technically, proper work doesn't start before 9.30 and you will be labelled as "manual" (not automatic) if you schedule a 9am meeting.
I used to be able to make it to work by 9.20 and considered as normal.
However, eversince i shifted from the northern to the eastern part of the island, my bio-clock didn't seem to adjust itself.
I continued to wake up at the usual time and assumed that i'm still gonna make it to work at the same time.
Obviously it wasn't the case.
In the past, i could arrive at work within 30min but it's unfortunately double the time now.
Since then, my ETA has become 10min to 10. =p
Bonny is gungho hor.

I think God is getting a lil displeased.
In a span of 5 days, i had to bump right into the big boss TWICE at the lift lobby as i was stumbling in.
I had to smile myself silly to get away.
My gosh...this is embarrassing.
Can you imagine that my parents have to be called in coz their kid has punctuality issue?
I guess Li Li would be the parent then.
是丢脸的咯!
Therefore, i made a decision! To be EARLY!

Eversince a kind soul offered to give me daily morning calls, i've managed to rise at 7.30 and reached work by half past 9 since Wednesday.
And today, i reached at 9.20 wor! Partly was also due to the morning call which came earlier. =p
I was uber pleased with myself.
Shall stick to this timing for now. What a great improvement!
I said i'll be EARLY. I neh say punctual hor. =p

However, the 30min of sleep that i lost for the past two mornings seem to be a toil on my body.
After lunch, i could sense my engine depleting and vision was blurred.
I took every opportunities i could to take 1, take 2 and even take 5.
It was a tough fight with Uncle Zhou (Gong).
I had to keep myself engaged in msn conversations to prevent myself from slamming onto the table.
It was THAT sleepy.

As i was typing this, i couldn't stop yawning too.
10.53pm. Time for bed.

*yawn*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!!!

I'm close to slamming my head onto my desk.
Friday afternoons are the worst. Especially when everyone is away for meetings.
The silence is just too much of a snooze temptation.

Ok perhaps i should wrap up for the week.
Eversince the night classes were off, i've more or less got used to the new weekday roster.
Bonny is still a J afterall. I lead my life by schedule. Hah.

Monday is usually a Bon-a-Pers Day (hey i like that) where Persi and i will share about our dark secrets which are only accessible between the both of us. Hehehe. =p
We were at Bugis this week and being two poor girls, we settled for bah cor mee at Seah Street rather than anything fanciful.
Instead, we channeled our funds to a good donut dessert. Keke.
Oh, i made a discovery at J Co.
They give away a free sugar-glazed donut for every purchase of a beverage too! Just like those donut shops in Seoul!

Tuesday, i will usually go home if no other souls date me.
Initially dated Hel but was forced to cancel in view of the Anarex-ical drowsiness.
Being afraid that i might just doze off halfway the journey, Persi offered to take the train with me before she met her family for dinner. So nice hor.
So it was a knock-out Tuesday evening.

Wednesday will be my usual Swim Day at SPE.
Hel, being such a pro coach, did a good job on me.
Never could i imagine that i could wriggle in water without grabbing onto anything.
She was so good that the real coach in the same pool felt threatened. *thumbs up* Haha...

Thursday was Spiritual Foundation Class by Ps Tiak.
The new series was on Worship.
The most insightful and practical takeaway - Come, Care and Challenge!
Really lor...i think we think too complicatedly sometimes.

Friday, that is today, will be CG day!

Tomorrow...NATIONAL DAY!!!!!

COUNT ON ME SINGAPORE!!!!!

Fragile. Beware!

I think i'm getting fragile.
Eversince i was forced to acknowledge the fact that i'm unsuitable for competitive games, i didn't even dare to lay my hands on a netball.
None did i know that a train ride could also cause my back to react violently.
Trains during peak hours are ridiculously crowded and it explains why i try to avoid it as far as i could.
I was running late for work yesterday and thus had to take a train instead of the usual bus rides.
It was so packed that i couldn't hold onto any support and had to balance myself on foot.
At some point, the train had a sudden jerk and i lurched two steps to the side.
I regained my poise and seemed to be ok and i continued my journey to work.
It was later in the day that i realised a sharp pain at my lower back.
No matter how i tried to make myself comfortable, i just couldn't seem to find the perfect position.
I had difficulty standing and walking straight after sitting for a period of time and my back was starched. Any more big movement and it will cui.
Quickly i swallowed a couple of Panadol Extend but it was just too late.
The pain lingered on till i got home, till i took a couple of Anarex (muscle relaxant), till i fell asleep.

Woke up this morning feeling a lil better but thought i should just have one more dosage.
I took it minutes before noon and thereafter, i was anarexically high for the rest of the day.
Wonder why Anarex wasn't smart enough to just relax my back muscle, but m.u.s.c.l.e.s in general.
I was disabled and my vision was blurred.
It was when i thought i could knock off for the day, an irritant had to come by and pushed his limits. Gross!

Guess what! When i finally made it home, i accidentally twisted my left ankle again.
See...i told you i'm about to cui already.

On a separate note, i was watching the repeat telecast of a chinese drama on Channel 8 last night and the part about the male lead suffering from cancer.
His doctor related to him that even if the chemotherapy worked on him, he was still subjected to a window period of five years when there could be a possibility of a relapse.
Apparently he was kinda shadowed by this possibility and started to make arrangement for his family in case of a relapse.
Then i started counting.
I have one more year to my fifth.
What if....
What if....
What if....

I'll be seeing Dr Chia end this month since the previous follow-up with her a year ago.
If everything goes well, i should be discharged officially when i see her next year.
Should be ok right? =p

Laughing Gas

Subsequent to the Food Poisoning ordeal, i tried to watch out to what i eat but didn't quite work out.
No oily and spicy stuff, the doc said and these are the main ingredients that make up my diet. You tell me how to avoid?
But i must say i really tried on Monday, lunch.
Then dinner, a bit...just a bit of chilli in my ko-lok noodles and some...hmm...fried wonton with Persi at Vivocity.
I was trying to test my tolerence all over again in view of the greater magnitude that is to come on the following day.
The tomyam steamboat at PP was extremely spicy that night and the guy sitting opposite, with his rolled-up sleeves and reddened face, was almost drenched.
Knowing him for years and his immunity towards chilli-padi, it was the first time that he admitted defeat. Muahaha!!
As for me, i was waiting for the aftermath to come after the meal and it only came the next morning.
I spent so much time in the bathroom that i had to cab to work as i was seriously running behind time.
Ok at least it was still manageable. I mean my tummy. =p

However, the tummy cramps persisted over the next few days, not because of my food but all thanks to some funnymen.
I haven't laughed so hard for the longest time and i did that for several times just this week.
After the episode the english proficiency saga, i was uber easily tickled thereafter.
There was once in the office when i had to hold my laughter to the ladies where i burst into a hilarious one.
I hope nobody heard from the outside. =p
And another time that Persi and i had to stop by the road, in bended positions, just because we couldn't concentrate on walking and laughing at the same time.
Laughing while eating was uber tiring as well as i tend to run out of breath. I think i gave Bengz and Jul a shock over lunch that day. Hurhurhur.
It happened at CG too when i was caught totally off-guard by the chorus of Selamat.
Tummy was so pain that i was trembling when i tried hitting the high notes at the later worship.

I like to laugh.
I think God likes to see me laugh too.
Since the joy was given by Him. =)

Ending the post with a creative production by Persi:
The shoudjer was exercising at the revenue when someone spilled some source on his shoudjers, oh no, i have to stop my spork and chane my cloth now.

See comments for answer.

MUAHAHAHA!!!
