Nevermind. Not worth mentioning.
Anyway...
After much anticipation, the DAY had finally arrived!!!
Woohoo!
10.30am: Esplanade
Yes it's THAT early!
With much effort, i spotted the Stage Door and cleared the security with my pass.

After manoeuvering through the corridor maze and lots of doors, i managed to find the final entrace to the stage.
Wow...first time to Concert Hall leh! Hannah...i am suaku.
I found the rest slouching on the first rows of seats like a pile of dead fish but i joined them without hesitation.
Not long later, George appeared from behind in his casual outift.
Body-hugging tee, denim jeans and pointy leather shoes, forever so well-groomed, irregardless of the hour.
We teased him about his appearance on SPop on the previous night, with 梁文福 and the rest of the old-time 新瑶 singers and he was defensive about it.
He insisted that he doesn't belong to their era. K lor...
Talking about that, i always had the impression that he is a complete kan-tang, especially with his slang.
But after that episode of SPop, wow...i was impressed! He's uber effectively bilingual can! I didn't know that!
Ok coming back...
George ran through several rounds of stage positioning with us, to ensure that we were perfectly aware of where to stand at which moment.
It's crucial, given that there would be about 30 people on stage at one time.
The last thing i wanted was to be buang off the stage.
11.30am: Backstage, Artiste Room
After our run, the dancers took over the stage and the waiting game started as well.
We found our "artiste room" with the label - "STB Talents" on the door.
The room was like the size of two and a half HDB bedrooms with plenty of seats, long tables, long mirrors and numerous lightbulbs.
Pretty spacious and comfortable and perfect lighting for cammying!
Oh we've got our private bathroom as well.

I love this pic. Like some professional performance group like that.
Oh oh...saw the lady in blue at the extreme right?
She's 40 and has 2 daughters in their teens, can you believe it?!
All of us didn't, till we saw the pics of her children.
She's such a friendly and bubbly mother.

1.45pm: Backstage, Artiste Room
After lunch, we got into our costumes for the full dress rehearsal.
Getting the feel already...
Soon after, we were told to cleanse our face to get ready for make up!

3.00pm: Makeup Room
Make-up artistes were all on standby.
I brought my drawers of cosmetics but when i saw the MAC range they were using, i decided to keep away mine instead. Heh.
The centre-parting fringe was so funny hor. Haha.

Face done!
I felt a bit weird at the beginning. Wasn't really used to the thick foundation.
But i quite like the matte and natural look.
Just a pity that my fake eyelash couldn't be used. =(
And now the hair...
He wanted to blow my hair up like a lion's mane but i thought i'll look uber aunty.
In the end he
Now i looked like an ah ma.
It's alright. I was pretty opened to new image. As long as i looked different from normal days.

And this was the end product. Nice?
It had been a long while since i felt pretty. Heh.
I love the dress Mummy made for me.
It was modified from an old halter dress which she made for my D&D 3 years ago and that was the last i worn.
So for this, she decided to beautify it with some shimmery fabric and netting.
Simply lovely!

Doesn't this look like a wedding photo, less the bride and groom? Hah.

6.30pm: Backstage
The guests were seated and the show was on!
We hanged around at the backstage, catching the show from the screen behind.
Occassionally grabbing people to take pictures. Heh.

The Tourism Awards is an annual celebration for the tourism industry to honour service champions who have enhanced Singapore's standing as a premier destination and the theme for this year's awards ceremony was "Our Tourism Universe, Our Brightest Stars".
For the production, it consisted of 4 segments, namely:
Orion and our Tourism Universe ~ that's the opening song and dance by George;
Virgo - A Journey to the Past ~ a song by Julia Abueva, a 12yo girl who has a amazing voice!
The Age of Aquarius and lastly ~ by the accapella group Vocaluptuous
Milky Way, Our BRIGHTEST STARS ~ by the talents from the Tourism Industry and that's US.
9.00pm: Showtime!
The nervousness came only 2 min before stepping onto the stage.
I tried distracting myself by praying and talking to Gurmit Singh, the host of the night.
He was exactly like who he was on stage!
The moment came.
I took a deep breathe, braced myself and took my slow and steady steps.
My goodness!!!
I tried to spot familiar faces in the audience but other than President S R Nathan and the first lady, the rest were in darkness.
Well, since we were the SHINING STARS, i put on the most hopeful and brightest look. Haha.
Try spotting Bonny. Not hard lah!

In less than 3 min, everything was over. I wished it could be longer.
9.15pm - Backstage
I was famished.
Hurriedly packed and proceeded to the post awards reception.
Managed to catch George before leaving the room.
This has been featured as my MSN pic since then. Heh.

9.30pm - Post Awards Reception
Met up with Roy and Berny who came as audiences.
I was so glad when i heard that Roy was going. Otherwise, no one could capture me on stage lor!

Berny and Bonny, the black duo. He's so smart hor.

Not sure where did they steal the trophy from but it's so cool!
Bonny, the poser. Haha!
I was kinda pleased with myself when a few of the colleagues and even Directors came up to me and shared words of compliments after the ceremony. Shy leh. Heh.
I didn't think i could be seen with the rest of the 30 performers but it seemed that it's not that hard afterall, given my physique. Haha.
For once, i give credit for that. =p
Albeit a lil tiring, with the rehearsals all that, i was so glad to be part of this.
On my way home, i was drifted in the thought of i-wish-i-could-do-this-forever.
Was in dismay for a while but soon rationality took over.
The FIRSTs i had:
- first time to the Esplanade
- first time performing at the Esplanade
- first time to be part of a "production"
- first time to be choreographed by a renowned professional theatre figure
- first time to be made up by a professional make-up artiste [i did my own make up for all functions k]
- first time feeling like a star

Seriously, i didn't think this could happen without His grace.
From the start when i thought i had to pull out as i couldn't attend the rehearsal, till the fabulous experience i had.
It was awesome standing on stage. Really. The confidence just came the moment the eyes and lights were on me.
Well, God has His reason for constructing the way i am and i shouldn't doubt it but most importantly to use it for His glory.
Amen! =)
