It has been a long time since i fasted (spiritually) but i was all geared up for it.
I took an uber heavy brekkie of nasi lemak at 10ish and was pleased that at lunch time, i was still pretty full.
Nearing 2, i decided that i should hop over to Tanglin Mall to run some errands before my energy started depleting. Bad move.
Little did i know that by withdrawing money and buying Wheatables from the supermarket would waste so much of my energy.
Before 3, i could hear an orchestra in my tummy and i started feeling giddy and my hands started trembling.
I started imagining that i smelled food and i was salivating at the roasted duck which i was fascinating.
Hunger can indeed rob the sanity of a person. No wonder people would resort to killing one another for food.
I tried all ways to distract myself by drowning myself with work, talking frivolous topics with Persi on msn, disturbing people and occasionally took peeps at the Wheatables and Shapes i had behind my lappy.
Digression...we were doing our usual grocery shopping one day when Bengzy highly and strongly recommended Shapes to me. His description sounded so heavenly that drew the concurrance of a fellow shopper. It was so funny. Being an open-snacker, i welcome any new recommendation and this...i've to say...CLASSIC! Arnott's Shapes, Cheese and Bacon...you gotta to have it! *slurp*

Where was i?? Oh yes...
At 4ish, i decided that i should pray again, to ask God to be my strength to overcome this and it worked pretty well.
I managed to endure till about 6ish when i broke fast with Agnes and Cher.
I didn't realised it can be that terrible to go without food for just a few hours. How to do it without God's help?
For the coming Easter, the church is putting up a big drama production and for the very first time, Bonny is gonna be involved.
I've always been very keen on stage work but i came to a point that i had to accept the fact that i can't act for nuts. Think my face is not suitable, somehow.
I was eager to explore using my voice instead! But the recent audition on 933 has an age limit which obviously i didn't qualify. Crap.
So i was talking about the Easter drama. And for the first time that Bonny is in it, i'm gonna be the....Assistant Stage Manager! Haha. After talking so much about acting.
Somehow the profile of this role seems to be a bao mu more like it; when i have to take care of the needs of the director and cast.
The rehearsals have started and i'm enjoying every bit of it. Very fun leh.
Doing it for none other than Easter, seems to be a lot more meaningful. =)
In view of the slackness last year, i commited to God at the beginning of the year that i'm opening up to His guidance and calling again.
With that in mind, i didn't take long to overcome the loss from stepping down from worship and the swift transition into a fresh ministry.
When God is asking me to move, i trust that He will lay the path. =)
This new portfolio gave me a fresh perspective of the weekly service that i've been attending for the past 4 over years and i'll never see it the same way again.
When my responsibility is to ensure that the service run smoothly, i guess it's natural to gain a sense of ownership.
The role of the Deputy Service Coordinator is not an easy task, especially when the Main is known to be a tough and no-nonsense man. =p
Stares from Mr Kaf would tighten my muscles instantly, reminding me of the strict and stern tutors i got when i was in primary school. Scared scared.
For the fact that we speak the same lingo as high-J-ers, it's quite an ease to learn from him.
And guess what... after two weeks into my job, Bonny is going to run solo this Sunday as Mr Kaf is going away.
I is excited! *gulp*
So i say...be careful with your transactions with God.
He never fails to surprise you! =)
