Gone Shopping is a new movie starring Kym Ng, Adrian Pang and Aaron Kao.
The Synopsis (abstracted from the website)
"GONE SHOPPING" is a satirical drama of three individuals who escape to various shopping centers in search of a better life. Leading the repertoire is Clara, a tragically romantic 40-year-old 'tai tai' (wealthy lady of leisure) who goes to the shopping center in search of affection, followed by Renu, a feisty 8-year-old girl who goes to the shopping center in search of independence and finally Aaron, an angst ridden 23 year-old 'Gen-Y' boy who goes to the shopping center in search of his manhood.
Unfolding over three days, this motley crew will lead audiences through a journey of love, loss and liberation in the heart of Singapore where they find that their dreams can be bought and broken. In the midst of it all, they will also cross paths with other 'creatures' of the shopping centers, each of them with their own strange retail tales."
I would like to grade the movie as a chimilogy but...
It's ok, maybe i'm just too shallow to understand.
But it really didn't leave too much of a memory in me after the night. =p
In the end, the limelight for the night went to the dinner before the movie.
Hog's Breath at Vivocity.
Bonny has always been a beefy fan and i enjoy good steak.
Eversince my experience at Black Angus, i could hardly find a steakhouse comparable to it [ok other than Morton's].
When i visited the website of Hog's Breath, i had an impression that it specialised in pork chops.
Maybe because of the boar.
For starter, we had the Finger Food Combo which was a sampler plate of potato skins, Buffalo wings, crumbed chicken tenders, salt & pepper dusted calamari served with a duo of dipping sauces, Lime Sweet Chilli sauce and Hog’s Breath Honey Mustard.
It was average but i kinda enjoy the chicken tenders.
Even though they were chicken breasts, it was not tough, marinated pretty well and most importantly, served piping hot. Smoke will come out kind.
Bonny ordered a Reef Ranger Prime Rib.
Prime Rib seared and topped with Cajun seasoned prawns
Initially i thought it was pork coz of the "rib" but later realised it's a part of a cow which has more fat and this fat was supposed to contribute to the flavour of the beef.
Did i just say "fat"?
Nehmind, eat first then say. =p
I tell you, it's heavenly lor!
The juice could almost dripped from the tip of my mouth and the tenderness just saved my effort of chewing.
The rich mushroom sauce complimented it just as well.
The prawns were grilled just nice, not too dry.
The mash potato [that pile that looks like butter] was so richly flavoured with garlic and parsley that it could be eaten on its own.
I wasn't even bothered that it cost $37.50.
Simply yummilicious!
Roy and Pei had Natural Prime Rib which was the most basic prime rib on the menu.
The Hog's Breath fries was the A&W kind which i like.
This plate cost $32.50 too ok.
But it's worth it lor.
Oh ya! Tuesdays are Ladies Night!
All ladies get 50% off their main course!
Woohoo!
Good food, good price!
What could be better?
Happy Bonny! =)
